Potter syndrome and Potter phenotype refers to a group of findings associated with a lack of amniotic fluid and kidney failure in an unborn infant.

 

 

 

Causes, incidence, and risk factors

In Potter syndrome, the primary problem is kidney failure. The kidneys fail to develop properly as the baby is growing in the womb. The kidneys normally produce the amniotic fluid (as urine).

Potter phenotype refers to a typical facial appearance that occurs in a newborn when there is no amniotic fluid. The lack of amniotic fluid is called oligohydramnios. Without amniotic fluid, the infant is not cushioned from the walls of the uterus. The pressure of the uterine wall leads to an unusual facial appearance, including widely separated eyes .

Potter phenotype may also lead to abnormal limbs, or limbs that are held in abnormal positions or contractures.

Oligohydramnios also stops development of the lungs, so the lungs do not work properly at birth.

 

 

 

Symptoms

 

 

 

Signs and tests

A pregnancy ultrasound may show lack of amniotic fluid, absence of fetal kidneys, or severely abnormal kidneys in the unborn baby.

The following tests may be used to help diagnose the condition in a newborn:

 

 

 

Treatment

Resuscitation at delivery may be attempted pending the diagnosis. Treatment will be provided for any urinary outlet obstruction.

 

 

 

Expectations (prognosis)

This is a very serious condition, usually deadly. The short term outcome depends on the severity of lung involvement. Long term outcome depends on the severity of kidney involvement.

 

 

 

Prevention

There is no known prevention.

سندرم پاتر و فنوتیپ پاتر سندرمی است که اشاره دارد به گروهی از یافته های مرتبط با فقدان مایع آمینیوتیک و نقص کلیوی در نوزادی که متولد نشده است

 

 

 

 

 

 

سبب - شیوع - ریسک فاکتور ها:

 

 

 

 

 

 

در سندرم پاتر مشکل اولیه نقص کلیوی می باشد . نقص کلیوی به همان نسبتی که نوزاد درون رحم رشد می کند توشعه می یابد.

 

 

 

 

 

 

ظاهر تیپیکی که در صورت یک فنوتیپ پاتر اتفاق می افتد در اثر فقدان مایع آمینیوتیک می باشد.

 

 

 

 

 

 

فقدان مایع آمینیوتیک الیگو هیدرو آمینوس نامیده می شود .بدون مایع آمینیوتیک نوزاد در برابر دیواره رحم محافظت نمی شود و فشار دیواره رحم به ایجاد ظاهری غیر معمول در صورت منجر می شودمانند چشم های بسیار از هم فاصله دار

 

 

 

 

 

 

فنوتیپ پاتر همچنین به ایجاد اندام های غیر عادی یا اندام هایی که در پوزیشن غیر عادی یا منقبض نگه داشته شده اند منجر می شود.للیگو هیدروآمینوس در واقع توقف و توسعه ریه هاست بنا براین ریه ها به در زمان تولد به طور صحیحی فعالیت نمی کنند.

 

 

 

 

 

 

علائم:

 

•  

  چشم های جدا از همبا لایه کوچکی از پوست که گوشه درونی چشم را پوشانده-پل بینی پهن -گوش های پایینتر از سطح معمول-چانه ی عقب رفته.

   

•  

  فقدان برون ده ادراری

   

•  

• مشکل تنفسی

•  

 

نشانه ها و تست ها:

 

•  

  اولتراسوند دوران بارداری ممکن است فقدان مایع آمینیوتیک -فقدان کلیه های جنینی - یا غیر نرمال بودن شدید در کلیه ها را در یک نوزاد متولد نشده نشان دهد.

   

•  

  عکسبرداری از شکم

   

•  

• عکسبرداری از ریه ها

•  

 

درمان:

 

 

این یک موقعیت خیلی جدی است و معمولا کشنده می باشد.پی آمد دوره کوتاه وابسته است به شدت در گیری ریه ها و پی آمد دوره بلند مدت وابسته است به شدت در گیری کلیه ها.

 

 

پیشگیری:

 

 

هنوز راهی برای پیشگیری شناخته نشده است.
